Mexico HG Altura Organic

Nestled in the southern highlands of Chiapas, Mexico, just 90 minutes from the town of Huixtla, this coffee originates from Ejido Morelos. Huixtla is known for its distinctive bell-shaped stone, where locals gather after each harvest to leave offerings of spirit water, cigars, and flowers in celebration of the season. Surrounded by lush subtropical rainforest and rolling coffee-covered mountains, the region sits near the renowned El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, one of Mexico’s richest centers of biodiversity.

Providence Mills, producer of this exceptional organic coffee, is owned by Mrs. Saida Soraya Henanine, who inherited the farm from her father. Since 2011, Soraya has transformed the operation through dedicated organic farming practices, creating new opportunities and markets for the farm’s coffee. The estate is divided into three sections—Finca Paraíso, Finca Holanda, and Finca San Pedro—where Sarchimor, Catuai, Bourbon, and Caturra varieties thrive at elevations of 900–1,100 meters above sea level. The coffees are fully washed processed, with approximately 95% grading at screen size 16.

Beyond coffee production, Soraya has invested deeply in her community, building a school, dining facilities, housing, and essential amenities for farm workers and coffee pickers. Some families live on the farm year-round, while others join during harvest season, helping sustain the vibrant community behind every cup.
