Elza is a members of APAS – The Alto da Serra Producers’ Association. She is also one of the women behind Flowers in Action, a project to empower female farmers. Her first coffee crop was harvested in 1980. Today, the farm has 20 hectares of land. For her, “coffee is something that puts family and friends together, it is a passion that crosses generations”.Mantiqueira has an ideal micro-climate: rainy during summer and dry during ripeness and harvesting periods. The mountainous area inhibits the use of machines,so coffee is selectively hand-picked.
