Elza is a members of APAS – The Alto da Serra Producers’ Association. She is also one of the women behind Flowers in Action, a project to empower female farmers. Her ï¬rst coffee crop was harvested in 1980. Today, the farm has 20 hectares of land. For her, “coffee is something that puts family and friends together, it is a passion that crosses generationsâ€.Mantiqueira has an ideal micro-climate: rainy during summer and dry during ripeness and harvesting periods. The mountainous area inhibits the use of machines,so coffee is selectively hand-picked.
