At 950 metres above sea level, her farm grows Red Catuaí, a widely cultivated Brazilian arabica variety valued for its compact growth, productivity and adaptability.
About the Varietal Red Catuaí
Red Catuaí is a Brazilian-developed variety of Coffea arabica, created by crossing Mundo Novo with Caturra. It was selected for its compact growth and good yield potential, making it well suited to cultivation in Brazil. The name Catuaí comes from a Guarani word meaning “very good”. Red Catuaí is distinguished by its red ripe cherries, while its cup character depends on growing conditions, ripeness and processing.

At São Luiz, pulped natural processing is one of several methods used to bring out the character of the farm’s coffees.
